Most free Sudoku apps make their money one of two ways: ads between puzzles, or a subscription behind the difficulty levels that matter. Sudoku — the newest game from Shrestha Co — does neither.

What's actually in it#

Classic 9×9 rules: fill every row, column and box with the digits 1 to 9, each exactly once. Four difficulty levels, and every generated puzzle has exactly one valid solution — no guessing between two "correct" answers because the generator left an ambiguity in. Fresh daily challenges and a streak counter give you a reason to come back beyond just restlessness.

The hints are built differently from most Sudoku apps. Instead of just revealing a digit, they explain the logic that gets you there — the actual solving technique, not just the answer. That's the difference between a hint that helps you finish today's puzzle and one that helps you solve tomorrow's without needing a hint at all.

It works fully offline, and there's no account anywhere in it.

Where it's headed#

Sudoku is on the web today at sudoku.shresthaco.com — open it in a browser on desktop or mobile and it's ready. A Play Store release is planned for October 2026; that'll be the same game distributed through Play, not a separate build. Until then, the web version is already the whole thing, not a preview of it.
